Job Search – Resume Tips

By Jo Pilon

Did you know that employers usually only spend 6-7 seconds looking at your Resume?

Four Tips to Help You Stand Out from the Crowd

  1. Research the company so you know their priorities and expectations and then demonstrate how your aspirations, expertise and experience make you perfect for the job.
  2. Put the most important aspects of your Resume on the front page. You want them to look at the front page and want to find out more.
  3. Use language that they are looking for. Get this from the job advertisement and your research into the company
  4. Edit carefully so you don’t make silly errors eg spelling mistakes.
