Is Expand Careers Right For You?

By Jo Pilon

Think that Expand Careers has services or packages that might suit you and your needs, but not too sure? Here’s a breakdown of the Expand Careers experience so you can decide if it’s right for you.

First Things First

Are you frustrated about your career path and its lack of momentum?
Are you overwhelmed with choices of what to study?
Where to study?
Whether there are other options to study?
Do you feel trapped in a job you hate?
Or under-appreciated in job you love?
Are you nervous about a job interview?
Do you have school-leaver kids that are directionless and confused?
Not sure how to best market yourself in a resume?
Having trouble with a colleague and not sure what to do?
Are you finding it hard to get to all your appointments and commitments?

Essentially, are you experiencing any career related questions or changes but are unable to easily access professionals due to scheduling conflicts or geographical location?

If the answer is yes, then we can help you.

How It Works

Once you have established that you do have an issue that our qualified and experienced consultants can help you with, you might still be a bit nervous about whether or not Expand Careers is the right fit for you.

We understand that committing financially to a service can be intimidating and for that reason we offer all potential clients a “Getting to know you” Skype Session. This is free and there is NO obligation to follow up with paid services.

During the half-hour “Getting to know you” session, our consultants will discuss with you your values, interests, past experiences and future plans. We will touch on any specific issues that you would like to discuss in future appointments and give you an idea on what the next appointments will look like.

This free session will also enable Jo and Kate to determine what other Expand Career Services and/or packages you could benefit from. This can be discussed and customised according to your needs and preferences. All our services and packages are offered through Skype, meaning you can do it from the comfort of your own home. If you prefer and if location allows, we are also happy meet with you in person.

Please be aware that if you have looked at the Expand Careers website and have already decided what services or packages you are interested in, you are not obligated to participate in the “Getting to know you” session (although you are more than welcome to!). All you need to do if you’ve already decided is to book through our online store.

What You Get

What you ‘get’ depends on the service or package you have decided upon. We have a many different services and packages that cater to the varying needs of our client base.

A basic overview includes:

  • One hour personal Skype consultations. These can be booked singularly (with a discount on subsequent sessions) or in a package of 6 sessions.
  • Career Assessment Tools (if needed)
  • Detailed Step by Step Plan or Customised Personal Program
  • Access to resources
  • Career profile
  • Coaching and mentoring
  • Capability skills sessions

We offer all these things and more, but overall what you get is qualified and experienced people who are invested in your success. We understand the importance of career satisfaction and strive to offer a quality service to people.

Ordering & Scheduling

Very simple! All you have to do is either book through our online booking system by nominating a time and day that suits you or fill out the form on the Contact Us page and we will contact you and organise a time that suits you.

That is the beauty of Expand Careers, we make it possible to access an important service regardless of your schedule or location. All you need is the internet!

We have worked hard to keep our services as affordable as possible, and in fact offer some of the lowest prices in the industry. We also have built in discounts so that people who require more than one session can do so at a more affordable rate.

You can also cancel any appointments with no financial implications, up until 48 hours before your scheduled appointment.

Have a look at our Services page for costs associated with different services and packages.

Payment needs to have been completed prior to the first paid consultation.

If you are purchasing a package or multiple sessions then we are happy to accept to organise a payment plan for you.

If you wish to you can pay for your services via the online shopping cart.

If you prefer to pay by direct credit, we are happy to send you an invoice with our banking details.

So many things to know and consider when starting off in a career or even when you want to change your career. Knowing about yourself and your interests, favourite subjects, work preferences, values and also knowing what jobs are out there that may suit those areas takes expertise and understanding.

If you are unsure about any of these things, if you need someone to help you plan for your future career then take advantage of the free ½ hour “Getting to Know You” Session with Jo or Kate at Expand Careers Consulting.
